Everjust and MyJustice are delighted to invite you for a one-day research and policy dialogue on community level justice in Myanmar on the 24th of November 2017, at the Hotel Sedona.
This workshop is an opportunity to learn from the findings of recent research on community level justice by MyJustice and EverJust. It will be an opportunity for members of civil society, state parliaments and coordination bodies engaged with rule of law and access to justice issues, to actively participate in discussing community level justice provision and the factors that influence it. The purpose is to deepen our understanding of justice seeking patterns and discuss how the research findings can help inform policy and programme interventions that better respond to people’s needs. There will be a particular focus on Yangon Region and Mon and Kayin States, although the topics of discussion are also relevant to other areas of Myanmar.
We look forward to welcoming you to this workshop and look forward to a fruitful day of engagement and discussion on this important issue. We hope you will have the opportunity to engage with a broad set of stakeholders on this issue as well as collectively identify future research needs as well as practical policy processes that can help address the challenges your organisation or yourself face in supporting access to justice. Simultaneous English-Myanmar translation will be provided, as well as lunch.
We, EverJust and MyJustice, will provide costs related transportation, taxi, accommodation, Bus tickets, and per diems for local participants from Bago, Mon, and Kayin.
